Back to the Beach

We're really getting a head start at checking off the summer "to do" list and it isn't even summer yet.  More like, we're really in the summer spirit after such a long dark and cold winter, we're ready.  Only two weeks ago we were in the house all weekend shivering with the heat on. So when the weather man was calling for the 90's today, it was only fitting to get to the beach, buy and put to use that 2011 annual pass.

Anticipating crowds at the beach, we go there early to insure we got our prime spot... and to our surprise the beach was pretty empty the entire time we were there.  We packed a lunch and spent a good 2.5 hours digging in the sand, chasing sea gulls and getting our toes wet in the waves.  However, Lake Michigan is about 30 degrees shy of being even close to swimable, come August it should be just about right though!

We're back home, showered and ready for our afternoon napping. A good day, for sure.
