Catchin' Up

Yes, we're still here... just trying to catch up and have a fun summer at the same time! Tonight I'm checking things off my list and getting ready for a picnic tomorrow afternoon. I'm taking, this blueberry dessert, this corn dip, this banana pudding, and this pasta salad! All new recipes to me and mostly I just want to try them out b/c they look so good. Here's hoping they taste as good as they look.

In the mean time, Josie's asleep for the night and here's a couple cutie pie photos from our trip to the fair last night...
we pretend "sleep" and I tell her to close her eyes... haha.

I don't think she's fooling anyone...

Peeking to see if it's time to "WAKE UP!!!"

Lake Geneva

For the holiday weekend we went up to Lake Geneva for a few days, it's not too far but far enough to feel like we're gettin' outta town for a little bit. My aunt and uncle have a house right off the lake and a boat that made a perfect voyage for Josie's first boat trip. Lake Geneva was full of all kinds of boats and people enjoying the holiday weekend - and we're lucky to have such a fantastic captain to take us around.

We had a gift card for the water park and the Grand Geneva, so that's where we spent the rest of our time and nights. It was the perfect setup for a family and had plenty of toddler type pools and water fun to keep us entertained!

Hometown Parade

While I play catchup on a couple weeks worth of photos, here's a few from my hometown parade. My brother's house sits two doors down from the park with the festival and right on the parade route. Year after year we gather in this same spot and enjoy the parade. This is Josie's second year, and while it couldn't have been hotter, she was pretty much entertained by the whole thing :)

Outdoor Lunch

One of the best things about summer is eating outside... in our case, eating messy things outside and not caring what get eweey and googy b/c the hose isn't far off. Ice cream, popsicles and even lunch are good choices to plop down outside to enjoy. I thought today's lunch fitting of an outdoor picnic considering the blackberry jam that was involved :)
