New to the menu, rice, veggies and fruit! Starting with rice. Completely hysterical trying rice cereal for the first time last night. Dr. B said Josie was ready for food, considering she's fussy even after a bigger bottle. So last night was the big night and you can see for yourself what Josie thought about this new texture in her mouth. Although, I DO think she got some in her belly, much of it was on her face and bib. If we delayed even a second in getting the spoon to her mouth, she'd start to cry. We think she's loving the new menu choice! Like a pro, opened the mouth and awaited the next scoop. Now we just need to work on keeping it IN the mouth and down into the belly.

New stats, 15 lbs RIGHT ON THE MONEY, and 24" long. Above average in both categories :) Dr. B said everything looks perfect and what a wonderful smiley little girl!

Exactly 4 Months Old

Today Josie is 4 months old. It seems that can't be true, but on the other hand, it feels like she's been here forever!

Not much to say today, but this is what we've been doing today:

and now getting ready to go out to dinner to celebrate mama's birthday :)

Almost 4 Months

We're getting close to the 4 month mark, and can't believe it. This is going to be a busy week! Josie has her 4 month doctors appointment on Wednesday, and we can't wait to see what the doc has to say. We're guessing she's pushing 15lbs, we'll see!

It's been a fun week with with Josie Pie. She's changed a lot in just the last few days. And the drool, my gosh, the DROOL. We go through just about all our bibs in one day just to keep her from being soaked all the way through! Annnd to compound the problem, a runny nose. Those idicators would lead one to think that maybe she is teething, but I've checked - no signs of little teeth in there yet! I know we're in for many more months of drool, someone HELP ME! :)

The other big thing this week is her hand eye coordination is really something to talk about :) Josie has perfected taking her pacifier in and out of her mouth, and if it's close, nudging it back in if she loses it. We're also impressed by her bottle skills! Meaning, she'll take her hands and pull the bottle away when she needs a break and pulls it back up to the birdie mouth when she's ready again. It's the small things that are pretty darn exciting around here. Oh, and 3 month sizes, YIKES, are getting tight, looks like 6 month jammies, here we come!

Then there's naps. UGH. I don't know what's made them change, but she'll no longer go down all by herself in her crib and nap. Maybe for a few minutes, then it's crying and looking to be soothed. We've tried letting her cry for a little bit, with marginal success... but the only thing working right now is to hold her and cuddle. Otherwise, there's NO NAP. So for now, I think I can manage cuddling my girl 2 times a day and kicking back and watching tv. Maybe she has the sniffles or a touch of a cold and just needs a little more comfort than usual.

Photo 10/365 - Cutie in the Morning

Every morning this week, this is the happy girl we find in her crib. She's easily spend an hour just chatting with her fishes in the aquarium on the side of the crib, or her monkeys dancing on her mobile. This gives mama plenty of time to have breakfast, make bottles and pick up around the house!

Photo 4/365

I love weekends like this. This morning I slept in until 9am! That's crazy for me, but Ed was up with Josie and I enjoyed my blissful sleep! The morning was spent packing away all the Christmas trees and decorations. Everything feels so blah and plain now, but excpetionally clean. I washed the walls, cleaned out and organized the entertainment center and bookshelves, shook out the rugs... lots of work but feels good to have it all cleaned up. Dinner at grandma's house and back home for bath time. Photo today taken just before bath time in dada's arms.

And for good measure, fun in the bathtub.

Photo 3/365 - Busy Day!

Pft, this photo a day thing isn't going to last long, that's for sure. Here it is, 10:30 at night and I just now remembered. But instead of giving up, ON THE 3RD DAY, I decided to make the photo of the day something still Josie related, if not Josie (who is fast asleep and I dare not turn the lights on and snap a photo of :)) But here on her dresser next to her lamp (that stays on all night) there was just enough light to photograph our favorite little toys. I'm sure we'll collect them all, they're just so adorable. They make a cute little clicking noise when you shake them back and forth. We tickle Josie and say "Whooo let the Mousie in Josie's Housie?"... and she laughs and laughs, thus the mousie was a gift from a special someone and the little girl a gift from her mama!

I've been feverishly scrapbooking today, plus we had a houseful of friends over tonight for dinner and Wii playing - a wonderful day, even if I did almost forget to take the photo of the day!

Photo 2/365 Unbelievable Cuteness

My photo of the day:

Josie is rolling over in a second flat these days, always rolling towards the left. The difference in the last few days is how amazingly strong her arms and neck are, she looks up each time to see who's watching her!

Check out that smile! So proud of herself :) Cecilie... check out the socks!

Happy New Year! 1/365

A dreary and cold first day of 2009, but a great day to do some furniture shopping, or so Josie and I believe :) Happy New Year!
