Majorly slacking in getting J's 7 month photo taken. I tried once, I really did, and it didn't go so well. I'm going to try again here soon... and pull together all of her updates for her 7th month. But until then, goings on around here... besides a rainy day....
I spent a lovely weekend away (missing J and E the ENTIRE TIME) with my girlfriends :) It was great mommy therapy. I came home to a happy husband and baby - AND A CLEAN HOUSE! Remarkable :) While I was gone, our new bike trailer arrived and it's put together and ready to go - now we're just waiting on a nice day to take it for a spin.
The few nice days we've had, have also been very windy - not optimal for biking. Instead we went to our favorite walking trail and caught some rays :)
A few nights lately have been very warm in the house, and what a fun change to put on shortie jammies instead of the heavy winter ones. I love this tushie sticking up in the air :)

Nature Walk
A beautiful day to visit the Dunes and take Josie on her first nature walk! We didn't make it to the beach (I'm not crazy enough to climb the dunes with a baby) but we did walk the easy trails - about 5 miles! Josie loved greeting every friendly dog that passed us by and the scenery along the way. It's still looking like the middle of winter out there, but there are a few signs of spring flowers and buds making an appearance!

Officially a Crawler
At 6 months, 2 weeks, and 6 days, she figured out the hands and the legs and off she went. Each and every day she perfects it a little more and before we know it - we're going to be chasing her around the house. I'm off to research baby gates this weekend - the choices are overwhelming, believe it or not. But for now, we have our own containment system.... because all of our house is hardwood floors - she just treads water if she crawls off the area rugs. I move her back to the rug and she's back in business. Above photo is Uncle Brian enticing Josie to crawl with a fun toy at Mimi's house on Easter :)

Magic Easter Bunny Key
Easter cuteness can't be avoided at this house! This is going to be a great holiday that we're going to really enjoy more and more as J gets older. Just as excited as I was to start our Christmas traditions right off the bat, the same goes for Easter. I will be hanging our magic Easter Bunny key on the front door tonight in hopes the Easter Bunny will find it and drop off some goodies for Josie.
Today we're getting ready for the big day tomorrow, our bunny ears and slippers and special dress are all ready to go for church in the morning and Mimi and Pops house for dinner. The Easter basket is out and waiting to be filled with goodies!

Success!
Officially a crib napper and it's wonderful! J's been a good napper, but usually in the swing or in mom's arms - but there something super wonderful about nap time in the crib, just laying her down, no fuss and fast asleep for 3 hours. Ahhhh... We set the ipod to Josie's tunes and it's perfect timing for me to clean house, scrapbook or whatever :) The funny thing is... she's a roller and likes to sleep in a ball. At first this was a little alarming - but she's always been super strong (could hold her neck up and roll back over) and keeps her mouth and nose unobstructed. Preferring to cuddle the blanket right up to her face ;) She's a snuggler!
haha... one bunny slipper has gone missing :)

Rubber Ducky... you're the one
I memorized all the lyrics to this song and get a kick out of singing to Josie in the tub. So, it's pretty irresistible not to stock up on a few rubber duckys here and there. Little did we know, she'd fall in love with each and every one of them. Sure, a pacifier is great, but a ducky is better! J will tote her ducky around all day, with a chew to the head quite often ;)
She's thinking... "where do you think you're going?"
"Wait, get over here..."
"Ahh, ha... I love you ducky!"

Easter Bunny
Am I going to be so lucky as to have the one and only kid that doesn't spaz out at the sight of freaky large people in animal suits!?! No fear this kid...
And is it just me, or does she look like a 2 year old here!!! Sniff sniff... you would think a gigantically large rabbit would dwarf my baby girl, but somehow she looks so big :) This photo did not like being scanned, it's way blown out from the original, but I'm happy with the result, even if two 5x7's cost me $20 :)
