Long Overdue Update
Today's my first day home with JJ by myself since my ACL surgery only 12 days ago. I'm moving slow but it's been great to try and get myself and this house back into some semblance of normal. Therapy is in full swing, three days a week with continued icing and exercise at home, and I'm happy to say that I'm responding better than most and am noticing an improvement each and every day. If I didn't know better, I'd think I just had a stiff knee at this point. But Of course I know there's a lot more going on inside my knee right now and I still need to take it nice and easy, and thankfully Josie's a pretty easy match for me right now!
It's been forever since I've updated here, let along grabbed my camera. I was determined today to at least snap a few to add to her monthly photo file. While healing last week, JJ turned 17 months old... another month has flown by. I've been passing the time while stuck healing looking through all the new Spring clothing lines because this girlie is moving up to the next size and lucky here, gets a whole new wardrobe with each new season. I've been in love with the toddler Keen sandals long before Josie was born and now she'll finally fit into them and I'm enjoying picking and choosing how cute and stylish she's going to be this Spring and Summer.
I officially feel like Josie's not a baby anymore, she's eating SANDWICHES for lunch! That's such a big girl thing to me, and the bottle at bedtime is history too... sniff sniff. In this last week she's FINALLY taken to drinking milk and water from her sippy. We were afraid all these months she'd shrivel up with how little she'd drink during the day (just a few sips here and there), but now she's making up for it in big gulps.
You may be able to tell from the photo, I couldn't stand the long hair in her face any longer - and after very little thinking and planning, I pulled out the scissors and trimmed a few. In my head I imagined them being able to "swoop" to the side, but they still sorta hang in her eyes. Oh well, too late, they're cut and it's just how it's going to be for a little while. Until she's old enough to leave the ponytails in or the rest of her hair is long enough to stay up... this is the only solution I've found to avoid looking like cousin It all day!

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're slowly getting bck into the swing of things after your surgery. That has to be hard.
Can't believe how much Josie has grown! She looks so cute with her ponytails!
