By the look on her face at the first glimpse of the bunny himself, we weren't too sure how this was gonna go...
While Ed entertained Josie in the candy store and even left for a ride in the car for a little while, I waited in line for a hour before waving Ed and Josie to the front of the line. Wouldn't you guess, just as we go to the front of the line... oh yes, the printer broke down. PERfECT! So... after a little bit of chaos, the printer was up and running again and disaster averted.... JJ ran right up to Mr. Easter Bunny with arms wide open for a hug and kiss. I'm not the least bit surprised. Such a sweet girl.

Table for 3!
I can't begin to tell you how thrilled I was to banish that disgusting high chair to the basement. One of those things no one told me before having kids was how completely gross a highchair gets with all the cracks and crevices. I gave up months and months ago trying to keep it sparkly and gave in to the grossness of it all. To my absolute delight, this last week Josie showed interest in sitting at the table in the chair, an idea was born...
On Monday, I went on Amazon to see what the booster seat market was like and snapped up this cute BoosterPod and couldn't wait to get it in house to give it a try (Love Amazon Prime, it delivered the NEXT DAY!). Well, it's been a whole day, three meals worth of uses and life is good! The seat wipes clean a million times easier than the highchair ever did and I think she's pretty entertained sitting with us at the table. I'm loving it too!

Hide and Seek
It's like a big playground over at the new homesite. Under supervision, of course! Between the rocks and sand, and steps and stuff... she's totally entertained and not wanting to leave. The footings are in and the forms for the basement walls are here and waiting to be assembled. Before the week's out, I'm sure there will be a basement and more places to CAREFULLY explore.

18 months
On Saturday, Josie turned 18 months old. The months are really starting to fly by and with each month it doesn't seem so monumental anymore, and oppps, I find myself forgetting what month we're on!!! This past week has been so crazy busy between getting back into a work routine, therapy, breaking ground on Mimi and Pop's house, and either a cold or allergies for all of us. I swear it's allergies from all the time we've spent outside this week, but today we're all feeling better.
Now that Josie's 18 months, we can tell she's catching on to things so quickly. She repeats words that she's only heard once or twice, like "moose", for the fuzzy moose we brought her back from Alaska. During tub time she's starting to lay down in the tub on her stomach and back and swim like a fish (thanks to Mimi showing her how!).
I love that we're on the cusp of a new season because that means a whole wardrobe change for JJ! I'm tired of the sweats and fleece jammies and ready to start putting on lighter clothes and searching for the cutest of cutest outfits for the new season. I've had this Matilda Jane outfit in her close for about a year, just waiting for her to fit into it... what a delight today to see how stinkin cute it is!
I feel like we're on the verge of going down to one nap per day, but she's still easily tired in the morning and so we're still doing a two napper day. Today cousin Nate is coming over to play and those two tire each other out, so she's down for a nap now and will be ready to run around when Nate gets here.
And her catch phrase right now is "There it (or he) is!!!" Whether we're playing hide and seek or asking her "where's your cow?" She finds what she's looking for and gleefully exclaims "THERE IT IS!!!". Love it :)

Welcome Wagon
I'm beginning to realize sand and dirt are going to be a real issue over the next several months. By the time the two of these goofs made it back home tonight, shoes and clothes were full of dirt! And of course, dad doesn't think twice about taking her out in her white tennis shoes and new cardigan. GAH!
The best part about today though, it was beautiful and sunny! I was in a short sleeve shirt soaking up the sun this afternoon, playing with the kiddos :) What a breath of fresh air, literally, today was... and I think the end of the week is supposed to be even better. Oh, and the wagon was brought out of the basement to mark Spring's much anticipated preview :)

Mimi and Pop's day one!
I think our daily "stick search" is official! Seeing Josie run around the yard on a treasure hunt of sorts makes us laugh :) It's nice it's just a short walk away to see what's happening at the new homestead :) The hole was partially dug today... what fun to come home and see the first day of progress!

Hurry Up Spring!
I remember how excited Ed and I were when waiting for the hole to be dug for our house, and now we get to do it all over again with Mimi and Pops breaking ground sometime this week, maybe even tomorrow! Ed wanted a few shots of the land before the big hole, so here's JJ and E running around picking up sticks and trying out the swing for the first time this year!
One of the best parts of coming home and waking up this morning was seeing all the snow was gone and a 50 degree day. What a swing from -15 just two days ago in Alaska.

Back Home
Ed and I had an amazing time in Alaska! It was certainly the trip of a lifetime. My brother planned something for us every day that was thrilling and not something we likely would have ever done on our own. From driving the Dalton Highway to the Arctic Circle to taking a charter over the active volcano Mt. Redout to see the steam plume up close and personal. Almost 23 gigs worth of photos to weed through, and I can't wait. But best of all, was coming home to our sweetie jj! She was equally excited to see us and today has been a day of figuring out the new tricks mimi and pops taught her while we were away. The photo was taken on our charter last Friday, the photo shows the Harding Glacier down below... breathtaking to say the least! Those valleys could fit my house, just to give you some perspective. The blue was magnificent, bluer than one would imagine.
