one of the best things about summer has got to be eating popsicles on a hot day and not caring where it drips. Lucky for Josie, she even got two! By my judgment, she gets only about 1/3 in her mouth, the rest runs down her hands, legs and the chair.
Today we had a perfect lazy summer day, cooling off pool side and enjoying the perfect 80 degree weather. I ended the day perfectly sun kissed and Josie's fast asleep...

m&p's new house
Things are coming along on the m&p's new house! Although, it would be nice if some of this rain would let up... m&p have a little pond in the front yard that has become semi permanent at this point!
The house is almost completely under roof, and that's when the real rockin' and rollin' can begin. We're so excited to see things take shape and with each day we're closer to having new neighbors!

Beach Bums
We're really pretty spoiled when it comes to living close to such a beautiful lake shore, the Indiana Dunes State Park is incredible, and luck for us, we're only 20 minutes from home to sand! This was really our first official trip for the sole purpose of soaking up the sun (me), play (Josie), and relaxation (Ed). There were tons of people, but that makes it all the more fun to find the perfect spot to camp out on, close enough to the water, but far enough away that we could relax and not worry about Josie running in.
Ed always finds reason to dig a big hole, this time it was one big enough for Josie to stand up in and be buried to her neck. Josie thought it was pretty fun digging and trying to climb out too.
It was a beautiful day to be at the beach, and even considering all the sand we brought home with us on our bodies and belongings, it was a lot of fun and I'm actually hoping to do it again this weekend. And by far, the best idea we had for the day was bringing the wagon along! We weren't sure it was going to go through the sand very well (it did just ok...) the parking lot was packed and we were forced into over flow parking, with all are gear in tow AND Josie... this was a brilliant idea and the wagon will go with us every time now!

Mimi's Garage Sale
I'm not entirely convinced anyone made any money, but that's not what a garage sale is for, right? At least not in my family anyway... it's more of a girl's day hanging out with grandmas, aunts, counsins etc..
We're not exactly garage sale havin' people, but in the spirit of cleaning out and getting ready for the move, Mimi and Pops were cleaning out all my childhood memories and putting a price tag on them for others to come and haggle the price down on. Ok, not really, but there were some memories in some of those old things... but good to let go and resist the urge to become a pack rat!
There's something incredibly interesting watching people come and go, what they do or don't decide to buy. Garage sale-er mentality is fascinting :) Best part of the day was hanging out with everyone and enjoying the day, even if I spent more in gas than profit for a day of sale-ing.

Memorial Day
Good thing we were up bright an early on Memorial Day. Come noon, the clouds took over and it was torrential downpour for the rest of the day. And yep, looks like I'm gonna own every blow-up water sprinkler/pool in the market. This was actually a purchase from LAST year that never got used, so for a few bucks (on clearance), I think we'll get some use out of it!
Josie wasn't too sure about the whole "crazy water spraying every which way" (and we weren't really dressed for it yet)... but Nate jumped right in to show her how to do it...
And leave it to Nate to show JJ how to have a good time. Before it was all said and done, she was sopping wet and laughing her butt off chasing Nate around the sprinkler :)
